MAP Asia Office

MAP Asia office

The Mangrove Action Project (MAP) established its first regional office in Thailand in 2001 as the Southeast Asia Office.  The primary focus was to develop and support working networks in promoting MAP’s overall goals and objectives.  During this time it developed extensive collaborations and partnerships in the region.  It also continued co-managing programs with MAP USA, such as the annual MAP Children’s Art Contest (which resulted in the Mangrove Art Calendar project).

After several years of networking, MAP broadened its scope to oversee projects in both Southeast and South Asia, ultimately changing its name to the MAP-Asia Office. MAP-Asia staff also work closely with regional partners within Thailand (including Wetland International-Thailand, Andaman Discoveries and Naucrates Conservation Biology) in promoting sustainable community livelihoods and ecological conservation.  These collaborations provide support to the wide array of projects MAP Asia has undertaken since its founding.

Periodically, opportunities arise for an internship with the MAP Asia Regional Office. Learn more about current openings.
