Do You Remember the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami? MAP does
GLOBAL – Twenty years ago this month, the world witnessed the devastating impact of a tsunami in the Indian Ocean that took 230,000 lives. Mangrove deforestation played a tragic role in amplifying the destruction. Mangroves are nature’s frontline defense. We need your help to strengthen these defenses. Since that time, MAP has become the leading organization providing communities, NGOs, and governments training in science-based mangrove restoration. There’s so much more to do – MAP has reached fewer than 25% of mangrove nations. By supporting MAP you invest in protecting coastal communities from future disasters with healthy mangrove forests.
