Diana Cisneros, PhD

Restoration Workshop Leader

Diana has over 13 years of experience working with mangroves, focusing on ecophysiology, genetics, restoration, and blue carbon. She has also collaborated with local communities on mangrove restoration initiatives for about 5 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UNAM and a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Scientific Research Center of Yucatán (CICY), Mexico. Diana has authored and co-authored scientific publications and practical manuals aimed at diverse stakeholders. She has worked on Blue Carbon projects within the voluntary carbon market (VCM) and has also taught courses at Bachelor, in UNAM, Mexico.
