Blueprint for climate action: Indonesia’s mangrove manual sets global standards
INDONESIA – Indonesia, home to the largest mangrove forests in the world, is set to introduce a groundbreaking national blue carbon measurement manual, along with standards and methodologies for certifying mangrove restoration projects.

MALDIVES – The research team, led by Northumbria University, warn that the findings have implications not only for the Maldives, but also for other island nations and coastal ecosystems around the world

Establishment agreement signing ceremony of the world’s first International Mangrove Center held in Shenzhen
CHINA – An agreement on the establishment of the International Mangrove Center (IMC) was officially signed on November 6 in Shenzhen, south China’s Guangdong Province. Delegates from 18 contracting parties to the Ramsar Convention attended the signing ceremony.
Flemish company creates world’s first mangrove island
ECUADOR – Jan De Nul, a Flemish company known for dredging and infrastructure projects, has announced it intends to build the world’s first mangrove island in Ecuador, South America. The model is said to be scalable worldwide.
