Mangroves in Focus: A Global Photography Showcase

Mangrove Photography Exhibition Recap

Celebrating Mangroves Through Photography

Mangrove forests occupy the boundary between land and sea. They grow in sheltered lagoons and deltas across the tropics and subtropics in the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific. These vital ecosystems provide coastal protection, support biodiversity, and play a crucial role in combating climate change.

From December 5, 2024, to February 28, 2025, the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Mangrove Initiative, the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, UNESCO, and the Mangrove Action Project jointly produced this exhibition to inspire appreciation and interest in these valuable coastal ecosystems. As part of the Abu Dhabi Mangrove Initiative, MAP launched the exhibition at Manarat Al Saadiyat, showcasing 120 stunning images, including photos from the Mangrove Photography Awards and UNESCO mangrove posters. The exhibition celebrated the beauty and importance of mangroves while highlighting MAP’s commitment to storytelling as a catalyst for environmental action.
