A short film produced for the Bonefish Tarpon Trust about the Bahamas Mangrove Restoration Project.
Hurricane Dorian destroyed 73 percent of the mangroves on Grand Bahama and nearly half the mangroves on the Abaco Islands. We conducted CBEMR workshops on Grand Bahama for the Bonefish and Tarpon Trust (BTT) and @waterkeepersbahamas7428 (WKB), who are collaborating with numerous partners, including @MANGgear, to kickstart recovery of mangroves in Grand Bahama and Abaco since Hurricane Dorian in 2019. S
o far, BTT and WKB have planted 50,000 red mangroves between the two islands and aims for 50,000 more. This workshop aimed to build capacity for stakeholders involved in the projects and to support the planting and restoration efforts.
