MEXICO – As part of the ManglarIA project, WWF has deployed more than 45 sensors across the Yucatán to monitor air and water temperature, rainfall, changes in carbon dioxide, currents, salinity, biomass, and wildlife.

GHANA – For thousands of coastal families in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, a safe home depends not only on strong walls and roofs, but also on healthy ecosystems.

GLOBAL – The Global Mangrove Alliance (GMA) Policy Working Group has launched Mangrove Law and Policy in Practice: 2026 Case Studies, a new publication that showcases how countries are translating global commitments into tangible action for mangrove conservation, restoration, and sustainable management.

MYANMAR – Local communities are taking a leading role in restoring and safeguarding their mangroves through community forestry whereby management responsibilities are delegated from the Forest Department to legally established community committees.

GAMBIA – The coastal trees provide a living for the women, who plant and care for them, and shield the island capital from erosion and flooding.

MALAYSIA – The UK and Malaysia are working together in the ‘Revive’ research project for the conservation of mangroves in Malaysia.
