The 2026 Mangrove Photography Awards Are Now Open!
Following a record-breaking 11th edition, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the 12th annual Mangrove Photography Awards, a global celebration of the beauty, biodiversity, and importance of mangrove ecosystems.
Photographers of all ages and skill levels are invited to share their stories through powerful imagery across six categories: Wildlife, Underwater, Landscape, People, Threats, and Conservation Stories (Portfolio)
Winners will be awarded in each category, in addition to an overall Mangrove Photographer of the Year, Young Mangrove Photographer of the Year, and a People’s Choice Award, with added UNESCO Award, Emirates Award, and Arabian Gulf Award.
As Leo Thom, MAP’s Creative Director and founder of the Awards, puts it:
“Photography has the power to ignite an emotional connection, spark curiosity, and inspire meaningful action.”
Winning images will be announced on World Mangrove Day, July 26, with a People’s Choice Award to follow in August. Entries close June 1st, 2026, and are free to submit.
