MAP Names Mangrove Photographer of the Year 2026

GLOBAL – A ghost net glowing under ultraviolet light, tangled in a mangrove on the tide-swept shore of Nandgaon village, Maharashtra, south of Mumbai. This year’s overall winner and Mangrove Photographer of the Year is Gaurav Patil, from India, with Tangled glow: When life meets the ruins. Mangrove Action Project (MAP), a global leader in community-led mangrove conservation, is proud to reveal the winners of the 2026 Mangrove Photography Awards. Now in its 12th year, the Mangrove Photography Awards continue to serve as a platform for storytelling, giving audiences a window into landscapes they might otherwise never encounter.
